This visual presentation allows clients to envision precisely the home they want - and make their revisions along the way.
To accurately match the dream with the reality, Huntington has developed a master list of standard features and 'a la carte' items detailing almost every conceivable option. Time-lines are built-in to the process, right to the possession date.
Huntington Homes places great emphasis on communication. "One of the most important things is communication with our clients" says Sheldon Swan, "We want to make sure that we are designing exactly what the customer envisions for their new home." Adds Rob Swan, "You have to recognize that the client is an integral part of the construction process. What they will be doing is making selections - plumbing, flooring, lighting and so on. We have to ensure that they have an organized format to follow, allowing them to be proficient, as if they've done this many times before."
Another reason for pre-construction planning is to avoid calling customers away from work midway through the project. "All that does is create stress for everyone, and it may make the house building experience a bad one," says Rob Swan. "We try to anticipate problems before they could happen."
"We use a highly detailed plan," he continues. "The plan is not an approximation of the home to be built, but an exact representation of how it will be when its finished. It will show exact locations for all systems, such as telephone, cable, vacuum outlets and specialty lights, switches and plugs.
This detailed planning process allows Huntington Homes to control construction costs. This, Huntington Homes maintains, is essential to stress-free building and vital to the satisfaction of clients intent on building the house of their dreams.
"If you're going to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars a number of times during construction, it doesn’t take long before you're $15,000 or more over budget" Rob Swan concludes. "And you just won't be comfortable with your 'dream home' anymore."
One of the first steps is a meeting between Huntington Homes and the client. Together we’ll help you decide what are the most important elements in your new home, and then we'll provide a budget price," Rob Swan explained. "Obviously the budget is a very important part of our process."
"We communicate with our customers, so that we know exactly what they're expecting. It's important that the customer has the opportunity to be creative. We want to make the building process a pleasurable experience," says Sheldon Swan.
Together we'll bring to life the features and refinements that will give your home its unique and distinctive character. Huntington Homes' award-winning design service is located in-house for your convenience. |
